Climate Emergency DPD
Cornwall
The Climate Emergency
Development Plan Document (DPD) was approved by Cornwall Council and submitted
for Independent Examination in Public in November. That means most of the
policies in the DPD may now be used in decision making alongside the Local
Plan.
The DPD sets a direction of travel for the Council in addressing climate change
within planning decisions. The policies within it can be given some weight
where there are no unresolved objections. This means that:
- positive weight may be given to proposals that comply with its requirements
- some policies may support a refusal, but the policies will not be used as a sole reason for refusal at this stage
You can download a copy of the DPD, including modifications recommended to address comments made at submission stage, by going to: https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/planning-and-building-control/planning-policy/adopted-plans/climate-emergency-development-plan-document/
