Christmas Lantern Parade & Light Switch-On – Now at The Pitch!

Due to the wind and rain of Storm Darragh coming our way, we've made the tough but necessary decision to cancel this Friday's Lantern Parade for everyone's safety. But don’t worry – the holiday magic is far from over!

Join us instead at The Pitch at 6pm, where we’ll kick off the festivities with Carol Singing by Lantern Light, led by the fabulous St. Dennis Band! Get ready to belt out your favourite Christmas carols and light up the night with your festive lanterns!

To keep you warm and cosy, we'll be serving complimentary hot chocolate and mince pies! (Hurry – it’s first-come, first-served, so grab yours before they disappear!) And for those looking for a little more festive cheer, there will also be a selection of hot food and drinks available for purchase.

The highlight of the evening? Father Christmas himself, of course! He’ll be making a special appearance, ready to meet the little ones (and their grown-ups too). Don’t forget to snap a photo with him and his jolly elves!

Don't worry we have not forgotten about the all-important Christmas Tree. As day light fades the tree will be set to illuminate Travalour Prazey in an array of sparling colours, filling the air with warmth and holiday spirit.

Please note: All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Get ready for a magical evening at St Dennis' very first-ever Christmas Lights Switch-On and Lantern Parade!

Join us on Friday, December 6th as St Dennis Academy pupils light up the night with their stunning lanterns! The parade will kick off at 6:00 pm from the top of Wellington Road, led by the fantastic St Dennis Band, making its way to Trelavour Prazey for the grand Christmas Lights Switch On at 6:30 pm.

Gather around the Christmas Tree on the green, where we'll be sharing the festive cheer with complimentary hot chocolate and mince pies, plus carol singing for all!

Looking to warm up with something more? The Pitch will be on hand with hot food and drinks to purchase throughout the evening.

And that's not all... Father Christmas himself will be arriving with his elves to welcome all children to his magical grotto!

This FREE community event, hosted by St Dennis Parish Council, is the perfect way to kick off the festive season with family, friends, and neighbours.

Important Details:

Road Closure: Wellington Road will be closed from 5:45 PM to 9:00 PM.
Child Safety: All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
