Avian flu
Cornwall
07/12/2021
New housing measures
to protect poultry and captive birds from avian influenza across England,
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are now in force. They apply whether
people keep just a few birds or thousands.
The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) has announced that from 29 November
2021, keepers are legally required to keep birds indoors or take appropriate
steps to keep them separate from wild birds and follow strict biosecurity
measures in order to limit the spread of Avian Influenza.
